Background Data: <br />a. Effective Date of Owner -Engineer Agreement: 04-11-2017 <br />b. Owner: Department of Public Works, City of South Bend, Indiana <br />C. Engineer: Jones Petrie Rafinski Corporation (JPR) <br />d. Project: Downtown East-West Streetscape (NO. 117-041) <br />2. Refer to paragraph numbers used in the Agreement or a previous amendment for clarity <br />with respect to the modifications to be made. Use paragraph numbers in this document for ease of <br />reference herein and in future correspondence or amendments.] <br />a. Engineer shall perform or furnish the following Additional Services: <br />The initial project scope for the Downtown East-West Streetscape Phase 1 project was <br />to consist of surface design of pavement and sidewalks, reconfigure approach to the <br />LaSalle Apartment parking lot, maintain existing curbs in place and to close identified <br />existing vaults. <br />During the design process the following items have been added to the initial project <br />scope: <br />1) Colfax Avenue & North Michigan Street: <br />- Remove & replace protions of curbs; <br />- Curb bump -outs were added to the project to provide additional pedestrian <br />crossing safety (adding to curb/curb ramp/spont elevations/storm <br />sewer/maintenance of traffic design & utility coordination. <br />- Maintian some vaults in place, involving need for ground penetrating radar <br />work and full time JPR inspection of vaults, design of sidewalk reconstruction <br />details over vaults, and building access & pedestrian traffic contingencies: <br />- Pavement cores for mill & rsurface design & considering curb reveal; <br />- Material changes to intersection pavement; <br />- Addition of small diameter storm sewer collection system within Colfax <br />Avenue for future roof drain connections.
