Councilmember Karen White <br /> seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine(9) ayes. <br /> SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> BILL NO. <br /> 19-32 A SPECIAL RESOLUTION HONORING ST. <br /> JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC SCHOOL <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis, 1801 Nash Street, South Bend, IN, served as the presenter for this <br /> bill. Councilmember Oliver Davis invited members of St. John the Baptist to join him at the <br /> podium while he presented and stated, I'm glad to be here tonight to present to you a special <br /> proclamation to honor St. John the Baptist Catholic School for its achievement. Whereas, St. John <br /> the Baptist School is led by Pastor Fr. Glenn Kohrman and Principal, Mr. Brian Carver, under the <br /> guidance of The Most Reverend Kevin C. Rhoades, Bishop, all of whom are spearheading the <br /> growth, the excellence, and the ability of the students and faculty; and, Whereas, St. John's prides <br /> itself on creating a whole student, and striving to ensure that each student best represents the <br /> school's mission of teaching students to love the"True,good,and beautiful";and,Whereas,during <br /> the 2018-2019 academic school year,the amazing third(3rd)grade students at St. John the Baptist <br /> School, under the direction of Mrs. Julie Malenda, excelled on the recent IREAD exam, with <br /> eighty-seven percent(87%)of the students passing the test. This is a small sample of the excellent <br /> work the students and staff exhibit on a daily basis; and, Whereas, St. John the Baptist's seventh <br /> (7th) and eighth (8th) grade students have shown amazing growth in mathematics, as well as <br /> 1 <br />
