And the Board b6ing fully advised in they premises., doe ides that the bene- <br />'its to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the est'i- <br />dated cost of the some as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and' thereupon takes <br />f ina 1 act ion on sa id res olut ion as or ig inally adopted, end the same are` hereby in <br />a 11 th ings rat if ied , e anf it t-ed. and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 17t ., day of <br />May 1919 and on the 24th ., day of May 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune in said <br />City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said Improve- <br />ments up to 10: 00 A.M. the 3rd . day of June 1919. The Board reserves the right <br />to reject any and al 1 <br />11 bids. <br />Property owners res id ing on South Michigan Street met with the Board <br />and took up the .matter of improving South Michigan Street with a pavement and sewer, <br />The Beard adv is ed said property owners to meat With them May 28th.. ,1919, at 7:15 - P. M. <br />Petition received for sewer, water and pavement on Division Street, <br />$,&me presented by Councilman Bailey. The Board referred said petition to the City <br />C iv it Engineer to have same verified as to the correctness of the 80% petition. <br />And report the same to the Board. <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of South Bend Avenue from <br />Eddy Street to East city Limits, With asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic, <br />or Bricks in pursuance t:o resolution No 622 the Board on the 13th.9 day of May 1919 <br />publicly opened and read and considered all bids and then c ont inued hhe it meeting , <br />to the 14th. , day of May 1 ` 19 at 7:15 P.M. <br />Now on last named date the Board designated Asphaltic concrete as the <br />kind of pavement With which said street is to be improved and fines the 26th., day of <br />May 1919 at 10: 00 A.M. as the time Who petit ions for changing the kind of pavement <br />must be filed, and the Board hereby continues this matter until the 27th., day of <br />May 1919 at .10: 00 A.M. on the day above named the Board will either pass on petitions <br />let said contract or reject all bids. <br />The following resolutions Were adopted by the Board. <br />LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEIdENT RESOLUTION NO. 673. <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, <br />County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, in- <br />tended and adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts <br />thereon, and not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, <br />be and the same is, hereby ordered in and along Corby Street and St. Louis Street <br />from Notre Dame Avenue to Howard Street as follows, towit: - <br />Bag inning at the Inter- <br />section of the center line of Corby Street at a point 5 feet east of the east rail <br />of the center line of Corby Street to the center line of St. Peter Street With an 18 <br />Inch v itr if ied pipe sewer; thence still West along the center line of Coru)r Street <br />to the center of St. Louis Street With a 15 inch vitrified pipe sewer; thence north along <br />the center line of St. Louis Street to a point 66 feet south .of the south line of <br />Howard Street with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer; together with the necessary manholes, <br />storm Water inlets, c ondu its, flush tank and house connections to the curb line along <br />the tine of said improvement, all as is more particularly shown and all in accordance <br />with the plans, profiles, detail drawings and specifications on File in the office of <br />the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />0 <br />
