<br />into this 29th., day of April 1919 with the; City of South Bend, Indiana, and shall
<br />fulfill all the conditions ions and sttpulat ions there its, contained, according to the
<br />true intent and meaning thereof, in all respects, then this obligation to be -void.
<br />otherwise to be and remain in full. force and virtue in law. In the event the said
<br />City shall extend the time for the conpeltion of said .work, such extension shall
<br />not in any way release' the sureties on this bond.
<br />This shall be a construction bend, and the sureties on the same shall
<br />not, be held responsible for the maintenance and repair of the improvement after
<br />it has been accepted by the second party, but such sureties shall be held. resvons ible
<br />for the faithful compladee with all other conditions, stipulations and requirements
<br />covered by or set out in the contract.

<br />` BE' IT RESOLVED BY: THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY STATE Or TI DIANA, That . it is desired and deeemed necessary to
<br />improve California Avenue fr°am Portage Avenue to Blaine Avenue asfollows, to-wit:-
<br />Sa id .street. shall be graded and the'roadway thereof shall be paved-; abd
<br />also the roadway of certain portions of the streets and alleys which enter it inter-
<br />sect said street shall be graded and paved. The paving material to be used in making
<br />said improvement shall be Portland cement concrete, Sheet -Asphalt, bitulithic,
<br />asohalti c concrete or brick, and the foundation shall be portland cement concrete
<br />five (5) inches thick for the sheet asphalt, bitulithic, asphaltic concrete and brick
<br />or rolled gravel six (6) inches Chic for the brick, also cement ctirb shall be con-
