2. Allocate average day customer demands to the updated hydraulic model network based on
Owner's annual billing data and customer connection locations.
D. Task 3: Model Calibration
1. After review of the daily production data, Engineer shall request up to three months
SCADA data for a selected calibration period. Engineer has assumed that the SCADA data
will be provided by the Owner in Excel format and will be in hourly increments. One
conference call with Owner operations staff is assumed to discuss typical system operations
and any SCADA data questions.
2. Develop 24-hour flow patterns, in hourly increments, for each of the four major pressure
zones (data permitting) based on provided SCADA data. The four major pressure zones
include: Northwest, Northeast, Central, and South.
3. Develop Calibration Scenario in WaterCAD hydraulic model. WTP pump operations will
be adjusted in the model based on SCADA data from the selected 24-hour calibration
period and an understanding of typical system operations. Customer demands will be
globally adjsuted to meet observed demands during the same 24-hour period.
4. Perform 24-hour extended period model calibration. During calibration, model results will
be compared to available SCADA data including flow meter data, pressure monitors, and
tank levels to ensure the model is representative of actual system conditions.
5. Develop model scenarios for average day and maximum day demand conditions for use in
future planning efforts, including the Construction Sequencing analysis as part of this
Proj ect.
E. Task 4: Model Update & Calibration Deliverables
1. Submit updated draft and final WaterCAD hydraulic model files to the Owner. Hydraulic
model files will be submitted electronically.
2. Prepare a Model Calibration Technical Memorandum documenting the model update,
model calibration, and calibration results. Five hardcopies and an electronic PDF copy will
be provided to the Owner for the Draft and Final Technical Memorandum deliverables.
3. Model Update & Calibration Meeting. Conduct a meeting with the Owner to present
calibration results and review comments from the draft deliverables. Owner's comments
will be incorporated into the final deliverables.
F. Task 5: Construction Sequencing
1. Owner will provide information on the planned improvements at their WTPs/wellfields that
would require full or partial shutdown during construction for Engineer's review.
Information provided should include the WTP pumps impacted or out of service (if partial
shutdown), current construction schedule requirements, and expected operational status of
booster pump stations, tanks, and PRVs in the distribution system during construction.
Page 2
(Exhibit A — Engineer's Services)
EJCDC E-500 Agreement Between Owner and Engineer for Professional Services
Copyright © 2008 National Society of Professional Engineers for EJCDC.
