Programming is planned to be switched but is
still being finalized. This can be provided when completed.
Q: In regards to the base bid — which does not include a touchscreen, does this mean the existing
HMI will no longer be used, or does it need the program modified to work with the new
processor.
A: HMI to stay on the junction box for the PLC and be programmed with new processor unless
touch screen is quoted.
Q: If it is to be reprogrammed, is the hardware compatible with the new processor?
A: The hardware is technically compatible with the current PLCs, however looking at the
program for Cleveland South, there isn't any free Input/Output space for the 4-20mA and digital
alarm signals to go into and there is no more room on that rack to add any additional input cards,
so that one will require replacement. Cleveland North has additional rack space to accommodate
I/O, but an upgraded panel there would be preferred.
