(JADE ELEPHANT HOLDING, LLC) <br />..DATE: -February 7, 2008 - <br />On February 4, 2008, a petition for personal property tax abatement consideration for property located at <br />3445 William Richardson Drive was filed with the City Clerk by Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. Pursuant to <br />Chapter 2, Article 6, Section 2-84.2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, this petition was <br />referred to the Department of Community and Economic Development for purposes of investigation and <br />preparation of a report determining whether the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area <br />pursuant to I.C.6-1.1-12.1 and whether all zoning requirements have been met. .. <br />The Department of Commutity and Economic Development has reviewed the petition (a copy of which is <br />. attached), investigated the area, and makes the following report. <br />PROJECT SUMMARY <br />Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc./Jade Elephant Holding, LLC are proposing to develop a 4.75 acre site to <br />include construction of an approximate 13,000 square foot mail assembly and document processing <br />facility. The facility will also serve as a "hot site" for disaster recovery for Lake Michigan Mailers' <br />document creation and mail assembly operations located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In addition, the site <br />will serve as a sales facility and customer training site for.customers located in northern Indiana. The site <br />is currently owned by Ancon Construction Company, Inc. It will be purchased by Jade Elephant Holding <br />who will in turn lease the site to Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc.
