REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 36-12 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, <br />ARTICLE 1, SECTION 6-4.1 (4) OF THE SOUTH <br />BEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADJUST FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT COMMERCIAL PLAN REVIEW <br />FEES <br /> <br /> <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />Public Works and Property Vacation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third <br />Reading on August 13, 2012. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which <br />carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Councilmember Henry Davis stated that he has received mailings regarding the City of <br />South Bend bequeathing a parking lot to St. Joseph High School and wondered if this was <br />something the Council would have to take under advisement. <br /> <br />Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand stated that she was not aware of anything <br />and if Councilmember Henry Davis, Jr. would share that information with her. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dr. David Varner stated that he can confirm that he has received the <br />mailing as well, but is not aware of anything that needs to come before the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Henry Davis advised that he will not be in attendance at the next <br />Redevelopment Commission Meeting. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 12-63 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br />ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br />AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 7101 <br />VORDEN PARKWAY AS AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF <br />A FIVE (5) YEAR REAL PROPERTY TAX <br />ABATEMENT FOR THE TIRE RACK, INC. <br /> <br />Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the Community & Economic <br />Development Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on August 13, <br />2012.
