REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 2007 <br />BILL NO. 43-07 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL TO VACATE <br />THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: <br />THE ALLEY TO BE VACATED IS THE FIRST <br />EAST/WEST ALLEY NORTH OF NORTHSIDE <br />BOULEVARD, FROM 21sT STREET, WEST TO <br />THE FIRST NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY FOR A <br />DISTANCE OF 133.5 FEET AND A WIDTH OF <br />14 FEET. BEING A PART OF DUNK' S 1sT <br />ADDITION, PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY <br />Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to accept the substitute version of this bill. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br />ayes. Additionally, Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to continue this bill until the <br />August 27, 2007 meeting of the Council. Councilmember Pfeifer seconded the motion <br />which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 44-07 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br />COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 14 <br />OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE BY <br />THE INCLUSION OF NEW ARTICLE 9 <br />ENTITLED "REGULATIONS ADDRESSING <br />SPECIAL EVENTS IN RESIDENTIALLY <br />ZONED AREAS" AND AMENDING OTHER <br />SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 14 RELATED <br />THERETO <br />Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to continue this bill until the August 20, 2007 <br />Special Meeting of the Council and refer back to the Community Relations Committee. <br />Councilmember Kirsits seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br />ayes. <br />BILL NO. 45-07 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br />COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, SETTING THE ANNUAL <br />SALARIES FOR THE SOUTH BEND COMMON <br />COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR CALENDAR YEAR <br />2008 <br />Councilmember Pfeifer made a motion to hear the substitute version of this bill. <br />Councilmember Dieter seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br />ayes. <br />Council President Timothy Rouse made the presentation for this bill. He stated that the <br />substitute version of this bill requests that the 2008 salary for the South Bend Common <br />Council will remain at $16,898.00. He urged the Council's favorable recommendation. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill. Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill as substituted. Councilmember <br />Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />RISE AND REPORT <br />
