Tax Abatement <br />(1) continued... <br />by Access Imprinted Sportswear also be <br />replaced on the west side of the street. <br />The sidewalks on the west side along the <br />Commission property are in dilapidated <br />condition, posing as trip hazards to <br />neighbors. A relatively small investment can <br />help clean up and support the work of <br />existing residential and commercial <br />properties. <br />Staff recommends repair of the sidewalk and <br />treelawn area on the west side of Hill St. <br />between LaSalle and Colfax. The work will <br />involve the following: <br />1. Sidewalk removal and replacement <br />2. Removal and replacement of <br />driveway approach <br />3. Removal and replacement of trees <br />4. Treelawn <br />The cost of the services has been estimated to <br />be $11,600, which includes a 10% <br />contingency. This will greatly improve the <br />Hill St. area and help the work of existing <br />businesses and residents. Staff requests <br />approval of the use of South Bend Central <br />Development Area TIF in an amount not to <br />exceed $11,600. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Alford, seconded by <br />Mr. Varner and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the expenditure of <br />$11,600 for new sidewalks along Hill Street <br />to compliment the current work between <br />LaSalle and Colfax on the west side. <br />4 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE EXPENDITURE OF <br />$11,600 FOR NEW SIDEWALKS ALONG HILL <br />STREET TO COMPLIMENT THE CURRENT WORK <br />BETWEEN LASALLE AND COLFAX ON THE WEST <br />SIDE. <br />
