No. 0535 confirming Res. No. 533 with respect to the LaSalle Park Project, IN R-57, and for making certain changes to the Urban Renewal Plan

r WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has caused to be prepared maps and plans showing the boundaries of such blighted area, the lo- cation of the various parcels of properties, streets and alleys and other features affecting the acquisition, clearance, replanning and redevelopment of such area, indicating the parcels of property to be excluded from acquisition and portion of the area acquired which are to be devoted to streets, parks, playground, and other public purposes under the redevelopment plan, and further studies have shown the ne- cessity of deleting certain parcels from the acquisition list in or- der to update the Urban Renewal Plan to current market conditions; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners did on September 17, 1976, adopt Resolution No. 533 redeclaring, among other things, that the above described area is blighted and constitutes a menace to the social and economic interests of the City and its inhabitants and that it will be of public utility and benefit to acquire such area and redevelop the same under the provisions of the Redevelopment of Cities and Towns Act of 1953, as amended, and approved the changes in the Urban Renewal Plan as presented in connection with said Resolution; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners did on the October 15, 1976, hold a public hearing for the purpose of presenting said Resolution No. 533 and the plan changes approved therein to the public and to hear remonstrances, if any, concerning said changes; and WHEREAS, said Redevelopment of Cities and Towns Act of 1953, as amended, requires that the Board of Commissioners confirm said Resolution No. 533; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South Bend Rede- velopment Commission that it will be of public utility and benefit to proceed with the plan of redevelopment as set forth in Resolution No. 533 passed by the Commission on September 1 7, 1976, referred to in WHEREAS clauses above, and that said Resolution No. 533 is now hereby approved, ratified and confirmed, including the changes in the Urban Renewal Plan as presented in connection with the Urban Renewal Plan.
