J S � P H �O <br />1NDIANA <br />FILED FOR REi ORG <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMIS- <br />SION REDECLARING THE MONROE- SAMPLE DEVELOPMENT AREA TO BE <br />BLIGHTED AND APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT PLAN. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Redevelopment Commission ( "Commission "), <br />governing body of the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment ( "Depart- <br />ment") did, on February 6, 1981, adopt Resolution No. 633 declaring the following <br />area to be a blighted area within the meaning of the Redevelopment of Cities and <br />Towns Act of 1953 (I.C. 18 -7 -7)( "Act "): <br />A parcel of land being a part of the City of South Bend, <br />Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, and being <br />more particularly described as follows, viz: <br />Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of <br />Michigan Street and Monroe Street in said City; thence <br />East, along said Monroe Street centerline, to the cen- <br />terline of Lincolnway East; thence Southeasterly along <br />said centerline to its intersection with the centerline <br />of State Road 23; thence Southwesterly and Westerly <br />along said centerline (being, in part, also known as the <br />centerline of Sample Street) to its intersection with <br />the centerline,of Michigan Street; thence North along <br />said centerline to the place of beginning. <br />WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 633 was reconfirmed by Resolution No. 635, <br />adopted on March 20, 1981; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been found that certain parcels within the Monroe - Sample <br />Development Area should be added to the acquisition list; and <br />WHEREAS, there was presented to this meeting of the Commission for its <br />consideration and approval, a copy of the amended pages of the Monroe - Sample De- <br />velopment Plan, a copy of which is attached hereto; and <br />WHEREAS, the Development Plan and the conditions under which relocation <br />payments will be made was reviewed and considered at the meeting, and the addi- <br />tions to the acquisition list were considered; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission desires to add said parcels to the acquisition <br />list and it is therefore necessary to amend the Declaratory Resolution No. 633: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COM- <br />MISSION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT: <br />1. That the Monroe - Sample Development Area, which is described in <br />the first "WHEREAS" clause hereof, is blighted and constitutes <br />a menace to the social and economic interest of the City of <br />South Bend and its inhabitants and that it will be of public <br />utility and benefit to acquire such area and redevelop the same <br />under the provisions of the Redevelopment of Cities and Towns <br />Act of 1953, as amended. <br />2. The Department of Redevelopment proposes to acquire land and <br />the interests therein within aforementioned boundaries as <br />designated in the Development Plan, as amended, and under the <br />conditions set out therein. <br />
