�.. r <br />RESOLUTION NO. 613 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOR1ENT <br />COMMISSION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />ENCOURAGING THE CO"ION COUNCIL OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA TO AMEND CHAPTER 21, ARTICLE 2 <br />DIVISION 7, SECTION 21 -18 (c) OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA TO <br />EXTEND THE CONTROLLED USE EXEMPTION AREA TO <br />INCLUDE THE PROPOSED EAST BANK REDEVELOPMENT <br />AREA AND TO 94END CHAPTER 21, ARTICLE 5, <br />DIVISION 3, SECTION 21 -102, OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA TO <br />DESIGNATE THE EAST BANK CORE AREA AS EXEMPT <br />FROM ALL ACCESSORY PARKING REQUIREMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment <br />is conducting a study and investigation of the proposed East Bank redevelop- <br />ment area; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Department recognizes that current controlled use <br />and parking regulations may prevent the desired revitalization of the area; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the Department is cognizant of private sector interest in <br />pursuing intensive development that is consistent with the general goals <br />and objectives outlined in the City of South Bend 1979 -1981 Community <br />Development Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Redevelopment Commission, <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, encourages the Common Council of South Bend, <br />Indiana, to amend Chapter 21, Article 2, Division 7, Section 21 -18(c) of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, to extend the controlled <br />use exemption area to include the proposed East Bank redevelopment area. <br />FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Redevelopment Commission, encourages <br />the aforementioned Common Council to amend Chapter 21, Article 5, Division 3, <br />Section 21 -102 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana to <br />designate the East Bank Core Area as exempt from all accessory parking <br />requirements. <br />
