N-JWAK <br />RESOLUTION NO.681 RECORDER <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT NR 6 3 37 tP '84 <br />COMMISSION REDECLARING THE EAST BANK DEVELOP <br />AREA TO BE BLIGHTED AND AMENDING THE JOSEPH . <br />DEVELOPMENT PLAN I N FOR RECIORD l A N A FILED <br />Whereas, the South Bend Redevelopment Ccxmlission ( "Commission "), <br />governing body of the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment <br />( "Department ") did, on October 3, 1980, adopt Resolution No. 626 declaring the <br />following area to be a blighted area within the meaning of the Redevelopment <br />of Cities and Towns Act of 1953 (I.C. 36 -7 -14) ( "Act "): <br />A parcel of land being a part of the City of South Bend, <br />Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana and being <br />more particularly described as follows, viz: <br />Beginning at the point of intersection of the <br />North- right -of -way line of Sorin Street with the East <br />right - of-way lines of Niles Avenue in said City; thence <br />South along said East right - of-way line of Niles Avenue to <br />the centerline of the first fourteen (14) foot alley lying <br />North of Cedar Street and between Niles Avenue and Hill <br />Street; thence East along said centerline, to the <br />centerline of Hill Street, a sixty -six (66) foot <br />P <br />., right -of -way; thence South, along said Hill Street <br />t <br />centerline, to the centerline of Jefferson Boulevard; an <br />eighty -two and one -half (82.5) foot right -of -way; thence <br />West, along said Jefferson Boulevard centerline to the <br />center of the St. Joseph River; thence in a Northwestrly <br />and Northeasterly direction along the centerline of said <br />River to its intersection with the projected North <br />right - of-way line of said Sorin Street; thence East, along <br />said projection and along said North right -of -way line to <br />the East right -of -way line of Niles Avenue which is the <br />place of beginning. <br />WHEREAS, the Development Plan adopted by Declaratory Resolution No. 626, <br />adopted on October 3, 1980 and confirmed by Resolution No. 630 adopted on <br />December 19, 1980 has been amended by the following: <br />(1) Resolution No. 632 adopted on January 16, 1981 and <br />confirmed by Resolution No. 634 adopted on March 2, <br />1981; and <br />(2) Resolution No. 678 adopted on March 11, 1983 and <br />confirmed by Resolution No. 679 adopted on April 22, <br />1983; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been found that certain parcels within the East Bank <br />Development Area should be added to the acquisition list and that certain <br />changes need to be made to fulfill the purpose of the Design Review <br />Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, there was presnted to this meeting of the Commission for <br />its consideration and approval, copies of the amended pages 10, 15, 16, <br />and 17 of the East Bank Development Plan, copies of which are attached <br />hereto; and <br />WHEREAS, the Development Plan and the conditions under which <br />relocation payments will be made was reviewed and considered at the <br />meeting, and the additions to the acquisition list were considered; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission desires to add parcels to the acquisition <br />list and it is therefore necessary to amend the Declaratory Resolution <br />No. 626: <br />
