To Whom It May Concern,
The current national government administration has continuously denied the existence of
climate change, despite conclusive scientific evidence. In regards to recent events such as the
"polar vortex" in which temperatures reached record lows, and two state of emergencies due to
record breaking floods, it is clear that climate change is not a phenomenon that we can choose
to ignore any longer. Events resulting from climate change are not irrelevant disasters that we
read about in newspapers, they are affecting the lives of people in South Bend on a personal
level. The proposed plan to reduce the City of South Bend's carbon emissions would not only be
doing the right thing for our world, it would set an example to other governments and the
citizens of South Bend that climate change needs immediate action and attention.
Grace Yarger
11th Grader
