r <br />Board met inregular session at 7:15 P.M. Mr. G. A. Elliott <br />absent. Mr. H. F. Rost iser, Vice .President of the Board Acting President, <br />Mr.. F:: J. Anderson, City -Civil Engineer absent: Mr.-W. E. Graves, Assistant City <br />Engineer present. <br />Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 595 for pavement on <br />Haney Avenue from Michigan Street 'to High Street, in the City of South Bend, <br />Inds ans. <br />Upon said hearing property owners appeared and objected -to the <br />present curb being .taken out. and objected; to combination curb and gutter. No <br />written remonstrance filed. And. the Board being fully advised in the premises <br />decides that the bone its to propaerty-liable to be assessed for said impro-'*4.ent <br />are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, <br />and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as modified. Present curb to <br />remain in, comb inat ion curb and gutter to be eliminated from resolution abd specifi- <br />cations: -.and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved <br />as modified. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 28th.9 day of <br />February 1919 and on the 7th., day of March 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, <br />in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said <br />improvements up'to 10:00 A.M. on the 25th., day of -March 1919. The Board reserves <br />the right to reject" any and all bids* <br />Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 596 for the pavement <br />of lst. alley east of Carroll Street from Mornoe Street to South Street and the 1st. <br />alley south of Monroe Street from Carroll Street to Columbia Street, in the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared -and written remonstrance <br />filed January 7th. ,1919 was considered. Remonstrance being against the pavement of <br />alley ea&t of Carroll Streeb from Monroe Street to South Street. In written <br />remonstrance filed, there being a number less than the majority of the resident <br />freeholders whohave signed the remonstrance, the Board now over -ruled said written <br />remonstrance and being- fully' advised in the preaahses, dec ides that the benefits to <br />property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated <br />cost f the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final <br />action on said - resolution as orlganally adopted; and thesame is hereby in all things <br />ratified, _conformed and approved. <br />..Resolved further, that notices be published on the 28th., day of <br />February 1919 and on the 7th.0 day of March 1919 in the South Bend 'tribune, <br />in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of <br />said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 25th., day of March 1919. The Board - <br />reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 602 for the pavement <br />of Elder Street from Michigan Street to Carroll Street and Carroll Street from <br />North line of Elder Street ti the north line of Wenger Street, in the Cityof South <br />Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing property owners appeared and o1jjeeted to the <br />present curb being removed, and objected to c omb inat ion curb and gutter being <br />constructed, no written remonstrance filed. And the Board being fully advised on <br />the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said <br />improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the <br />City Civil Egineer , and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as <br />modified:- Said resolution to read present curb to remain, combination gurb and <br />gutter to be eliminated. And the same is hereity in all things, ratified, conirmed <br />-and approved as mod if ied. <br />
