No act icon taken., <br />,he following communication received read and placed on file. <br />January 23rd,1919. <br />Board - of Pub I is Works, <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />Gentlemen: - <br />This will acknowledge receipt of your letter of January 22nd.1919 with <br />reference to the c and it ion of Bridge Street between Colfax Avenue and LaSalle Avenue <br />We are at the -present time .moving the boilers which were sitting in the street into <br />the power house, and expect to have -this' completed by February 1st; The street will <br />then be c leaned up s o that it will be passable condition. <br />Yours very truly, <br />IND IANA & MICH IGAN ELECTRIC COMPANY <br />C S. Huron Street! ,from South Kose iusaks <br />Street to -Meade Street. Same read and placed on file. Resolution for same adopted. <br />The Board ordered the following lights moved and placed. <br />Move present light on Sherman Avenge between Lindsey Street and Van Buren <br />Street north to Van Buren Street and place a new are light at Lindsey Street and <br />Sherman Avenue. <br />Place a 100 C. P. light at Leland Avenue and Rex Street. <br />Place an 80 C. P. Light in 2nd. alley west of Harris Street on Fisher St. <br />Place an 80 C. P. light on Grant Street about 400 feet south of Ford St. <br />It was resolved by the Board that the salary of J. T. Neenan Clerk in the <br />Engineering Department should be and is hereby ordered to be increased from $1380.00 <br />per year to $1500,00 per y-ar, same to be go into effect February lst.,1919. Also <br />ail rodmen in the Engineering Dept., and inspectors are hereby ordered increased from <br />$2.50 per day to $3.00 per day. <br />The following resolutions were &09pted by the Board. <br />LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION No. 600, <br />RESOLVED BY mHE BORRD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, COUNTY <br />OF ST. JOSEPH, STATE OF INDIXNA, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and <br />adapted only for only use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, aii,d not <br />intended .or adapted for receiving sewerage. from collateral drains_, be and the same is, <br />hereby ordered in and along Linden Avenue from Meade Street, 'to a point 65 feet west of <br />the west line of Olive Street as follows, to -wit: - <br />Beginning at the intersection of the <br />center line of Meade Street and Linden Avenue;_ _thence _east along:the _-center ,1_ine ,9f <br />.Linden Avenue to a point. 65 feet wart of the west line of Olive Street with a 12 inch <br />vitrified pipe sewer; together with the necessary manholes, storm water inlets, conduits, <br />flush tanks and house connections to the curb line along the line of said improvement;_ all <br />as is more particularly shown and all in accordance with the plans, profiles, detail <br />drawings and s pec if icat ions on file in the office of the Depa:rtmant of Pub 1 is Works of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, andsaid sewer, with, all its appurtenances shall be con- <br />structed in accordance with the profile and spec if icat ons now on file in the office <br />of the Department of Public Works of said City. The cast of s,4id improvement shall be <br />apportioned against and paid by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and <br />upon -6he City of South Bend if the City is benefitted by said improvement, all according <br />to the method and manner provided for in Act of the General Assembly of the State of <br />Indiana, entitled " An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations, " approved March 6,1905. <br />
