MRC GREGOR; <br />The above bid was approved and accepted. and fan to be instilled as soon <br />as possible. <br />It was resolved by the Board that Clause #41 of the General speci- <br />fications for improvement work in the City be changed to read 15% of bond for <br />pavement for five (5) years instead of $.20 per sq. yd. as now reads. Also it <br />was ordered by the Board that a guarantee bond amounting to 15% of all sewer <br />bonds bar three year be given on all sewer contracts in the City. <br />The, -city .engineer filed the. following written report wb :pet,it i for <br />sewer on Huey Street from Lincoln Way West to Wlwood Avenue, <br />January 8,:1919. _ <br />Board of Public Works, <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />Gentlemen: - <br />In regard to the attached petition for a sewer on Huey Street fram <br />Lincoln Way West to Elwood Avenue, I wish to report that at present the only <br />outlet for a sewer on this street is the sewer on Lincoln Way West. This outlet <br />is only of sufficient depth to permit of a sewer being built as far north as Vassar <br />Avenue on Huey Street If eRtended beyond this point it would not be deep enough <br />to drain the basements of houses fronting on the street. <br />The only way that an outlet can be provided from the north, 'as suggested <br />in the petition, is to build'a, trunk sewer from the river, -to take care. of the <br />territory lying. between Vassar Avenue and Keller Street. <br />If the Board desires to construct a - sewer from Lincoln Way to Vassar <br />Ave. a distance of -one bl*ck,. H. Beaning, Pole and Wire inspector to see City <br />Engineer about the placing of lights on Portage Avenue. <br />
