9284 Board met in special session at 10:00 A*M. All members present. Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for, P ipe sewer on "Columbia Street from Indiana Avenue to Dubail Avenue, -under Improvement Resolution No. _582. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Resolved that latices as to the assessments as required by law, be published on the °6th., day of Januery,1919 and on the 13th., day of January 1919 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Bawd will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 15th.9 dray of January 1919 at 7:15 P.M. Resolved fiifther, that the entire work hinder the -above contract be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this .resolution shall be published on the 6tY., day of January 1919 and on the 13th, day of January 1919 in the' South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Beard will give a .hear ing on the acceptance of such work at its . off ice in the City Hall pn the 15hh, day of January 1919 at 7:15 P.M. Geo. M. Uret. Sexton in City Cemetery appeared before the Board and requested permission to purchase a stove, for the Sexton's office in the City Cemetery. Same granted ,.not to be over $20.00 On motion of G. A Elliott and by unanimous consent of the Board y the fallowing resolution was approved relative to the_ City paying the water depart - meet under Public Service Commission order in case 4080 before said Commission.,., WHEREAS on the 14th., day of September 1918 the public Service Commission of Indiana in Case 4084 before said.Commissi®n entered an order, a copy of which order is hereto attached marVed Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof which order requires hho Municipal Water Department of South Bend to put into effect certain changes in its charges, rules and regulations governing the furnish - of water,to consumers generally and WHEREAS the Municipa 1 Water Department is required under the tterms of said Order to make certain ehawges against the civil City of South Bend for water furnished said civil City of South Bemd, and WHEREAS, under the terms of said order of -the P. S. C. the' Municipal rater.: -_?Department will receive compensation for water furnished slid City and it it chat, the Civil City of South Bend, be reimbursed for services rendered to said Municipal Water Department, now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, by the water Works Board for and on behalf of the Municipal Water Department of the City of South Betio., Indiana and the Board of Public Works for -and on behalf of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, that on and after January 1,1919, the Municiapl Water Department of South Bend shall charge the Civil City of South Bend, as follows: - 1. Per each fire hydrant located and maintained by prder pf the proper authorities of the City of South Bend on a pub 1 is street, or other public thoroughfare, said City shall pay at th rate of $40.00 per hydrant per annum. In the event new hydrantsare installed by the proper authorities of the City of South Bend during the currect year said City shall pay a propertenate pro rota charge for the balance of the currect year from the date of installation. Under the above per hydrant charge as specified in said Order water for the following purposes shall be supplied without extra compensation by the Civil City of South Bend . ar All water used for opening catch basins in City streets. b- All water used by City for flAshing sewers with fire hose. c- All water used by City for Street washing. D- All water used by City for street sprinkling for sweeping purposes. e- All water ysed tly the fire department for fire protect ion.
