Michigan Street,
stated, Thank you very much for asking me to come to this meeting today to present on the
recruitment activities that we've been taking part in as the South Bend Fire Department. I would
like to point out a few things before this presentation(which is available in the City Clerk's Office).
There are two (2) points I would like to highlight. First (1st) of all, it is a team effort no matter
what. It's been a team effort on the public safety agencies' part. Not only with the Fire Department,
but we've partnered with the Police Department, Christina in the Office of Diversity, Human
Resources and Ian Spindler is here representing FIR, we've worked with multiple people in HR in
terms of recruitment, and then Danielle Fulmer is here representing the business analytics side of
things. She has provided us with resources to be able to analyze the data associated with
recruitment which has been very valuable to us as well. Secondly, I want to point this out because
INTEGRITY' SERVICES ACCESSIBILITY
JENNIFER M.COWMAN BIANCA L.TIRADO JOSEPH R.MOLNAR
CIIIEF DEPUTY/DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS DEPUTY/DIRECTOR OF POLICY ORDINANCE VIOLATION CLERK
EXCELLENCE I ACCOUNTABILITY I INNOVATION I INCLUSION I EMPOWERMENT
455 County-City Building 1227 W.Jefferson Blvd.I South Bend,Indiana 46601 I p 574.235.9221 I t 574.235.9173 I www.southbendin.gov
