Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M..All members present. <br />Communication received, and reed from the Maryland Casulaty Co, <br />in regard to Bond # 46345-C of Alex Bukows�ki filed by said company on January <br />18th.,i417 in the sum of One 'Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars for cement work in this <br />C ity; requesting- that thie 'B646d 'cancel said bond., I The Board find that Alex <br />Bukowski under date of April lst.,1918 has filed a new contractors bond in the <br />sum of $1,000.00 with 'united States Fidelity & Guaranty Co. of Baltimore, Md. <br />as sureties: and which was approved April 2nd.,1918 and now order that bond <br />filed by Margland Casualty Company under date of,Jan.30th.,1917 is hereby ordered <br />cancelled and company notified of same. <br />Bids were received read and referred to the Engineer for tabu- <br />lation for ws,ter connections on Harvey Street between Allen Street and Blaine Ave. <br />Only one bid received. <br />Bid of John G. Kestler. <br />Short side per tap.....................$20.00 <br />Long side, per tap ..................... 25.00 <br />It was resolved by unanimous consent of the Board that the <br />resignation of C. A. Perkins Commissioner of Buildings of this City filed May <br />llth.01918 be accepted by the Board to go into effect June lst.,1918. <br />The Board ordered that the Indiana & Michigan Elec. Co. be <br />notified to place an 80 C. P. light at the corner of Merry Avenue and Meade <br />Street. <br />The following communication received read and placed on file. <br />May 28,1918. <br />The Ron. Board of Public Works: - <br />As has been the custom for many years the departments of the <br />City adminstration are expected to participate in the'Uemorial Day Parade to be <br />held on Thursday May 30th.9 <br />You are therefore invited as a department to assemble at -Uhe <br />City Hall at 1:45 P.M. on above date preparatory to marching in a body to the <br />place of parade formation. <br />FRANKLIN R. CARSON <br />Wayor. <br />Petition 'received read and placed on -file for a pipe sewer on <br />South Columbia Street from Dubail Avenue to 1st. alley xastsouth to East Indiana <br />Avenue. <br />The Board ordered that the Indiana & Michigan Elec . Co. be <br />notified to place an 80 C. P. light in lat. alley East of Michigan Street between <br />.Lincoln Way East and Jefferson Blvd. 'Mr. D. C. Layton to locate proper point <br />to place light. <br />Pet it ion received for sidewalk, grading and widening of <br />Oakland Street from Mishawaka Avenue to River to sixty feet. The Board ordered <br />resolution prepared on Widening of Oakland Street to sixty feet, sidewalk and <br />grading to be held up until after widening resolution is approved. <br />
