61 <br />Board met in regular session at 10: 00 A.M. All members present. <br />Walter Mussas l appeared before the Board -and asked that Blaine <br />Avenue pavement improvement be stopped .at Vassar Avenue and not to run any further <br />north. This matter taken .under advise-ment by the Board. <br />Petition f filed at are lights -at the corner of Phillips and Dunham <br />Streets and at the corner of Carlisle and Huron Streets. The Board ordered . that thee@ <br />1 i&hts be installed as per petitions, <br />Pole and Wire Inspector filed complaint relative to Indiana & Michigan <br />Electric Com7-)any stringing electric wires within Oft. of P,*,alarm wires:. <br />Engineer f filed- part.is-1. es:t.imtao -on High Street and Ewing Avenue <br />Trunk sewer improvement, (L. H.. W.ebstar. ,c,ontr&ct r-)for the amount of $1,519.15 and the <br />same was approved by the Board. <br />J. C. Lauber & Company submitted the following bid for Council <br />Chamb'ars heats ing. <br />We purpose $re furnish and install all heating duct and registers for <br />C ounc it Chamber according to plans prepared by Building Department; Duet to be made of <br />�4 guage galvanized Toucan metal, joints seamed and soldered, and duct braced where <br />necessary for the sum of One Hundred and thirty two dollars. <br />Yours truly, <br />J. Lauber Co. <br />The above bid referred to the Building Commissioner for report. <br />The following communication received from City Controller road and <br />placed on f ila. <br />,April 19th. ,1918. <br />Honorable Board of Public Works, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Dear Sir :.. <br />By order of the auditors of the State Board of Accounts no warrants for <br />traveling expenses of members of Boards or City employees will hereafter be drawn by <br />the City Controller unless accompanied by a statement giving date of minutes containing <br />author izat ion for such ind icat ing the purpose of necessity for such trip. Vouchers <br />must- also be accompanied by receipts $rem each item or expenditures incurred, except <br />railroad fare, and no item will be allowed unless accompanied by such receipt. <br />Other kinds of incidentals expenditures such, as for instance, as purchase <br />of street car tickets or any expenses of employees, authorized by Board must be accom- <br />panied by receipts or other definite evidence of the expenditures. <br />department. <br />Please notify all concerned in your <br />J OHN A. SWYQART, <br />City Controller. <br />B. E. Miles submitted proposition of cleaning up debris and lumber in <br />yard at rear of 224 No. Main Street for the amount of Three Dollars. Action on same <br />deferred until later date. <br />By unanimous consent of the Board C. A. Perkins, Commissioner of Buildings <br />in this City was authorized to purchase atreet car ti--kets for inspection work. Order <br />given heretofore for maintenance of automobile is hereby rescinded. <br />Petition filed by the Riverside Roque Club for change in location of certain <br />electric lights and installation of water hydrant at roque grounds on Riverside Drive. <br />This matter deferred indefinitely. <br />
