You are hereby ordered to make the fallowing repairs on your right of way an paved: streets, and which you are bound by your franchises to pave and repair. all of whi.eh streets are in the City of South Bend, Indi6na: - Between your tracks and on either side of rails on Washington Avenue between Michigan Street and west line of Lafayette Street. This notice ins gluon pursuant to your agreement contained in Ordinance Nos. 696 and 871. V The Street Commissioner D. C. Layton presented the following cheat ion to Board and same was approved. Board of Public Works. Gentlemen. Owing to increase of cost, of horse feed and high rate paid by contractors for team, I am compelled in order to satisfy and keep our teams, to ask to increase the rate of teams working for the City from 46.00 per day to $6.50 - per day and $.65 rate per hr to $.70.
