Jefferson Blvd. between' Michigan Street and <br />the Jefferson' St. Bridge, as, you intend to pave it this summer. Perkins, met with the Board and presented <br />the following notice tin owners of signs , which was approved by the Board and <br />Commissioner. instructed to advertise same. <br />i <br />NOTICE TO OWNERS OF SIGNS. <br />Notice is hereby given that Section #109 of Ordinance #1879 adopted <br />March 12th. ,191'7, of the' C ity of South Bend, Indiana., provides that all existing <br />signs and billboards whose length, construction or location does not comply with the <br />provisions therein contained, shall after January lat., 1918_ be made to comply with <br />the Ordinance or be removed entirely. • All of said signs etc., are now unlawful <br />,structuses, and notice is hereby given to the owners thereof to comply with the law <br />by April 15th., 1918. <br />C'. ' <br />Gentlemen: - <br />At the time of the hearing on the assessment roll of the Fox Street pipe <br />sewer, from Miami Street to Leer Street, the Controller was instructed to retain <br />100.00 from the amount due the contractor Bruno De Peape, ufltil some minor details <br />in the construction of the sewer had been remedied. <br />v Mr. De Peape has taken care of this matter, and I therefore recommend that <br />the Board of Public Works instruct the Controller to•pay him the money still due <br />him. <br />Yours very truly, <br />FREDERICK J.-ANDERSON, <br />City Civil . Eng in ear. <br />v The Board oddered that a special session of the Board be held Thursday <br />March nth. ,1918 at 10: 00 A.M. to take up the matter of the washing out of the ` f irst ' ' <br />.alley north of Fox Street between St. Joseph Street and Carroll Street, caused by <br />some parties diverting Bowman Creek. Board instructed Clerk'to notify the National <br />Lumber Company, Mr. J. W. Paxton property owner, also Chief of Police Kline, requested <br />to notify all property owners bordering on said alley to be present .at said session. <br />Clerk instructed to request City Attorney to be present at -said session. <br />The matter of transportation for the City Engineer Ins: -his work in the <br />Eng ineer 3.ng department was discussed by the Board and it was unanimously agreed <br />by the Board that if Mr. F. J. Anderson City Engineer would`-furhish: his car, ---that, ` <br />the Board would allow Thirty ($30-OO)Dollare per mouth foriusb--of same. The City <br />Engineer agreed to furbish car, at the above agreement . <br />
