Board met in regular session at 10:00 A. M. Mr. H. F. Rost iser absent. <br />The Board ordered the following supplies from the Vest Disenfeeting <br />Co. of Chicago, Ill., 1/2 drum of disenfectant _@ $1.63 per gal. l onds of soap at <br />$.13 per pund aid one gal. quick metal polish at $1.35 per gal. <br />Mr. Samuel Robinson appesred.bei'ore the Board in regard to petitions <br />filed January 22nd . ,1918 for pipe ° sewerand grade on Div is ion Street from Olive Street <br />to Kentucky Street. The L Board ordered said petit lone set for a hearing on February <br />6th.,1918 at 7:15 P.M. ° <br />Dr. E. G. Freyermuth met with the Board and requested thatthehouse <br />owned by the City at 224 North lain Street be turned over to his department- for <br />tigious hospital. No action taken on same. <br />v. The following order was approved of by the Board and. a copy ordered <br />sent, to each office in the City Hall. <br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:- <br />.I-- Various departments Will in the future confine their expenditures <br />to supplies and incidentals used in the customary transaction of business and will not con- <br />tract to repairs or to the purchase of furniture, fixtures, or appurtenances pertaining <br />to the ind iv idual departments. Contracts calling for expenditures of money for the up- <br />keep of the departments will be made or authorized by the Board of Public Works, <br />�- Mr. Geo. Harrop of the National Company contractors on the Portage <br />Avenue Trunk sewer appeared before the Board and requested an extension of time <br />in which to complete Portage Avenue Trunk Sewer contract. The Board granted the' <br />said <br />National Company until June lst.,1918 in which to complete said contract. <br />By unanimous consent of the Board the salary of L. G. Couter, <br />Assistant City Engineer,, was increased to a rate of $1600.00 per yea, same to be <br />effective from February 1st. ,1918. As per c ommunicat ion received Jdniaary 22nd.91918. <br />Pole and Wire inspector reported on complaint about pole at rear of <br />432 Cottage Grove Avenue as follows:-- This is a Home Telephone Cols Pole and the pole <br />should be reset to the north about fifteen feet to the property line,as it now stands - <br />in the driveway to a new garage.
