• Ladders shall be inspected for defects prior to each use <br />• Ladders should be stored on a flat surface in order to prevent it from <br />becoming bowed or warped. <br />When going up and down the ladder be sure to always have <br />three points of contact. <br />Face the ladder and grip the side rails <br />Do not over reach when on a ladder, keep between the side <br />rails. <br />Always tie off when applicable <br />- When using ladders in front of a door way or passage way the <br />opening should be barricaded <br />- Ladders must have a solid footing. Do not place on boxes or <br />unstable footings <br />- Do not use ladders as platforms of scaffolding planks <br />- Use all ladders with their engineered design do not alter a <br />ladder or use stepladders as straight ladders. <br />Do not stand on the top two steps of a ladder <br />�am' <br />The training shall enable an employee to recognize the hazards associated <br />with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to <br />control or minimize the hazards. The training shall include the following <br />areas as applicable: d. <br />- The proper use of the scaffold, and the proper handling of materials on <br />the scaffold. <br />- The maximum intended load and the load -carrying capacities of the <br />scaffolds used. <br />- Any other pertinent requirements. <br />• WE shall have each employee who is involved in erecting, disassembling, <br />moving, operating, repairing, maintaining, or inspecting a scaffold trained by <br />a competent person to recognize any hazards associated with the work in <br />question. The training shall include the following topics, as applicable: <br />- The nature of scaffold hazards. <br />
