Personal Protective E ui mmen.t <br />• Environmental glass, Inc. employees shall wear clothing and footwear which <br />is safe for the jobsite <br />• Safety boots are required at all times with no exception <br />• Hard hats, glasses and gloves are available on all job sites and should be <br />worn in order to protect employees from accidents <br />• Metal hard hats are prohibited <br />• Bracelets, dangling jewelry, loose clothing, and neckties present a potential <br />hazard and are prohibited. <br />• Long hair is prohibited on the job sight unless it is up and properly secured <br />and unable cause a hazard. <br />• Safety harnesses must be used in accordance with working on elevated areas <br />when necessary. Refer to scaffold and ladder section <br />• If hazard cannot be controlled by means of engineering then we require all <br />employees to use their training to acquire the proper means of PPE <br />Electrical Hazards <br />9 On most sites the potential hazard of electricity applies <br />• The improper use of power is one of the most common hazards. <br />• Wet environments and improper grounding greatly increase the potential for <br />electrocution. <br />• Prior to beginning a project the site shall be inspected and any wiring fault <br />shall be noted and recorded. <br />• These faults can be detected be means of testers. Any issue shall be either <br />fixed or put out of service prior to commencing work. <br />• When possible circuits that will not be used should be locked out <br />• Ground Fault Circuit Connectors shall be uses no matter what. <br />• An equipment grounding program will be used on all sites. This will require <br />inspection of all tools, cords and electrical devices with written <br />documentation. <br />
