ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
For aquatic uses, under certain conditions, treatment of aquatic weeds can
result in oxygen depletion or loss due to decomposition of dead plants, which
may contribute to fish suffocation. This loss can cause fish suffocation. Therefore,
to minimize this hazard, do not treat more than one-third to one-haff of the water
area in a single operation and wait at least 10 to 14 days between treatments.
Begin treatment along the shore and proceed outward in bands to allow fish to
move into untreated areas. Consult with the State agency for fish and game
before applying to public water to determine if a permit is needed.
Forterrestrial uses, do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is
present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate
water when cleaning equipment or disposing of equipment washwaters.
This chemical has properties and characteristics associated with chemicals
detected in groundwater. The use of this chemical in areas where soils are per-
meable, particularly where the water table is shallow, may result in groundwater
contamination.
PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS
COMBUSTIBLE. Do not use or store the product near heat or open flame.
