Board met in regular session 8,t 7:45 P.M.,All members present. <br />Mr.;Greening appeared before the Board and took up the matter of. <br />a sewer can Pleasant Street. The Board informed him that a news resolution with a higher <br />estimate would be adopted, and set for a hearing. <br />Hearing given on Condemnation Resolution No. 49. for the Widening of <br />Miami Street from Ewing Avenue to City Limits, in the City of"South Bend, Indiana. <br />- In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written remon- <br />strance was filed. The Board therefore declare the above property in all things condemned <br />and appropriated for public use. <br />The Board further ordered that the City Engineer be instructed to <br />.prepare a roll showing awards of damages and assessments of benefits in the hbove matter. <br />Defferred hearing had on Vacation resolution No. 42 for the vacation <br />of the lat. alley south of.Stull Street from main Street to 1st. alley went of train <br />,/ Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />In•the above matter remonstrators appeared but no further written remon- <br />strance was filed. The Board after due consideration decided to defer all action on same <br />until Tuesday October 16th.,1917 at 7:45 P.U. <br />Hearing given on assessment roll and final estimate for grade, curb and <br />walk,on Leer Street from Calvert Street to Ewing Avenue, under Improvement Resolution <br />No. 531. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance <br />was filed. The Board thereto& find that the property assessed in said roll filed September <br />18th.91917 is benefitted'in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls filed September <br />18th.,1917 and the Board further find that the assessment rmll filed September 18th.,1917 <br />and the final estimate allowed September 18th.,1917 should be and the same are hereby in all <br />things ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Plat of McHenry Baker Addition presented to the Board by WP. K. McHenry <br />was ordered held up until 10:00 A.M. October 16th.,1917 . <br />Mr. Heber P. Harter of the Harter• Realty Company appeared before the <br />Board in regard to assessment roll for pavement on streets in Harter Heights. <br />Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for pavement`s on <br />Streets: in Harter Heights Addition , under Improvement Resolution No. 507. In the City of <br />ci South Bend, Indiana. <br />•R;esolved'by the Board that they would accept a waiver signed by the <br />Hater Realty Company&Heber P. Harter waiving all sdtirtisemeiits for notices for hearing <br />on $aid roll and that a notice send by mail shall be sufficient notice of the hearing <br />upon the assessment made for said improvements, also stating that this Board will give <br />a hearing in its office on the amount of suchassessments in the City Hall on the 16th. <br />day of October 1917 at 7:45 P.M. <br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be <br />accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. <br />The Board ordered that the the resolution for pipe sewer on Chestnut <br />Street from Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Ry. Company to Napier Street be called up <br />on October 23rd.1917 at:. 10:00 A.M. <br />The Board finds that the bids received October 2nd.1917 for.the pipe <br />sewer on Dayton Street from Marine Street to Ist. alley west of Leer Street undet <br />Improvement Resolution No. 557, the same being deferred for consideration to this date <br />are above the engineeres estimate, resolved by unanious consent that the resolution for <br />same be rescinded and new resolution _ ande.stimate adopted. Also bids for the pipe sewer on <br />Pleasant Street from Nineth Street to Eighth Street, under Improvement Resolution No. <br />547, the same being deferred until this date for consideration, are above the engineer's <br />estimate, and it,,is hereby resolved by the unjnimuus consent of the Board that the said <br />resolution and bids be rescinded and new resolution ans estimate adopted. <br />Petition received for a sidewalk on Brookfield Street from California <br />Avenue ti lst. alley north. The same read and placed on file. <br />Petition received read and placed on fibe for an electric light on Pleasant <br />Street and Sixteenth Street. <br />
