Bend, Indiana.. <br />Gentlemen: <br />Nhen the new pavement was put down on Michigan Street, the plank that the Traffic <br />Officers stood on was removed nand ,never, ,r,ep�],aQd� ,as it was thought at that time, best to <br />use matefsnt for ,the Traffic Off aers to „stand oon•» <br />After trying out the mats the Officers have all come to the conclusion that the <br />planks are far superior to the mats, and the Traffic Pt ff icers at -the intersection of Michigan <br />St., and Jefferspn. Blvd.. have, to, stand in water. when it rains as the pavment at that point <br />has sagged.. where, the, off ipers, have to, stand., <br />I beg to recommend to your Honorable Body that the plank be'replaced at the inter- <br />section of Michigan Street and Washington Blvd. and Michigan and Jefferson Blvd. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />MILLARD F. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Resolved, that notides'as to the amounts of assessents be published <br />for six consecutives days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the 8th. da of <br />October 1917, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assess- <br />ments at its office in the City Hell on the 16th. da of October 1917. at 7:45 P.U. <br />Resolved further, that the entire work. under. the «above contract be <br />accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution <br />shall be published on the 8th. day of October 1917, stating that this Board will give a <br />hearing n the acceptance of such w•)rk at its office in the City Hall on the 16th. day of <br />October 1917 at 7:45 P.M. <br />....Bids'-; for pipe sewer on Dayton Street from Marine Street to 1st, alley <br />west of Leer Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 557 were above the estimate. <br />Also bids for pipe sewer on Pleasant Street from Ninth Street tuEighth Street above <br />estimate. The Board ordered same held up for one week or until Tuesday October 9th.,1917 <br />at 7:45 P.M. <br />Contract for pipe sewer on Sorin Street from Walsh Street to Arthur <br />Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 556, awarded to Hoban & Roach. _ <br />No bids -were received by the Board on pipe sewer on Chestnut Street from <br />Napier Street to L . S. & U. S. Ry. Co., The Board ordered that the advertisement for such <br />bids be held up until further notice from the Board. <br />President. <br />
