Central Union Tel. Company ordered to remove pole owned by their <br />c ompagy which is in the*way of a garage at' the rear of 111 E. Tutt Street, same to be <br />removed at- onace &nd said company to use Indiana & Michigan E ec. Company pole which <br />a-' stands about fifteen feet north of thier pole. <br />The following bills were approved by the Board. <br />Bill of H. N. Barnes for relaying brick in first alley west of Lafayette <br />Street between South Street and Monroe Street, additional to contract price of said <br />pavement improvement. <br />Bill of H. N. Barnes for relaying brick and 60 ft. of curb returns <br />at 27 cents per foot on William Street alley between Colfax Avenue .to Michigan Avenue <br />additional to contract price. <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Howard Street from Notre <br />Dame Avenue to Niles Avenue in in pursuance to resolution No. 527 the Board finds that <br />no petition has been filed with the said Board by a majority in number of the freeholders <br />residing on said street to be improved requesting that it be improved with a different <br />kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its preliminary order; <br />and the City Engineer reports that Williston Construction Company is the lowest and <br />best bidder for, the kind of pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board finds <br />that said Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets <br />the contract for said improvement to him, and orders that said improvement be made with <br />Asphaltic Concrete and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are hereby confirmed <br />and ratified. <br />E. Indiana. <br />Dated this 31st. day of July 1917. <br />Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on <br />Donald Street from Miami Street to Leer Street, under improvement Resolution No. 518 <br />In the City of South Bend., Indiana. <br />Resolved further, that notices as to the assessments as required by <br />statute be published on the 6th. day of August 1917 and on the 13th. day of August <br />1917 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that: this Board will give a hearing <br />on the amounts of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 21st. <br />day of August 1917 at 7:45 P.M. <br />Resoaved furt�ier,'that the entire work under the above contracts be <br />accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed,. Notice of this resolu- <br />tion shall be published on the 6th. day of August 1917 and on the 13th. day -of August <br />1917 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on <br />the acceptan e of such work at its office in the Cit�,He.-ll on the 213t. day of August <br />1917at7:45P.M. <br />Contract for the pipe sewer on Dunn Street from Chapin Street to Scott <br />Street, bids for which were received at 10:00 A.M. this 31st. day of July 1917 was <br />awarded to Staples and Ackerman at .... ....................................... $1,065.50 <br />Contract for pipe sewer on Howard Street from Notre Dame Avenue to <br />St. Louis Blvd. bids for which were received at 10:00 A.M. this 31st. day of July 1917 <br />,i was awarded to Stanles & Ackerman at.......................................$1,709.80 <br />Contract for grade, cur:amd walk on High Stret from Bowman Street to <br />Eying Avenue, bids .for which ,?!ere received Tuesday July 17th.,1917 was awarded to <br />H. L. Davis at.............................................................$2,374.10 <br />The Board -finds that bids received for pipe sewer on Chestnut Street from <br />Napier Street toL. S. & M. S. Ry. Company above the estimated cost, and resolved further <br />that notices be published on the 1st. day of August 1917 and on the 8th. day of August <br />1917 in a newspaoer of general circulation in said City, stating that this Board will <br />receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 14th. <br />day of August 1917 at 7:45 P.U. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all -bids. <br />
