Rice absent. <br />The contract for lighting River ,Park, this City was approved by <br />the Board and referred to the Common Council their ratification: - <br />A G R E E M E N T <br />THIS AGREELENT, Bade this 23rd. day of April .1917 by and between. <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, by and thourhg its Board of Public marks, party df the <br />first part, and the Welsbach Street Lighting Company . of America, a corporation, party <br />of the second part, WITNESSETH:-- <br />That the parties hereto, for and in consideration of their mutual <br />promises and agremenents hereinafter contained, do, for themselves, their successors and <br />assigns, agree and_ bind themselves, as follows: - <br />That the party of the second part agrees to furnish to the party of <br />the first part improved Welsbach Street Lights along the mains of gas company as they <br />now exist, or may be extended during the term of this agreement, in that part of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana known as River Park , and the party of the second part <br />agrees to mainia-in the same in aceordance with the agreements herein contained for the <br />period of five years commencing May 1,1918, and ending at Midnight on April 3Q.1923. <br />EQUIPMENT AND SERVICE. <br />The party of the second part further agrees to furnish and erect, <br />at its own cost and expense, and at such points and plae'es as may be designated by the <br />Board. of Public Works of said City, first-class iron lamp posts and boulevard lights, <br />equipped with the improved attachments for the Welsbach System of Street lighting.. The <br />lights to be furnished for and used upon Mishawaka Avenue, and furnished by the party of <br />the second part shall be No. 62 Boulevard lamp with the round Alba Globe. And the party <br />of the second pert further'agrees to furnish, at its own cost and expense, all 61luminant <br />mantles Prod material necessary for properly lighting, extinguishing, cleaning and <br />repairing said lamps and equipement. <br />
