<br />Gentlemen:
<br />I herewith report to you that befne Fuerbringer Street from Cottage :Grove
<br />Avenue to Sherman Avenue is permanently improved by paving the same, the following
<br />private connections with sewer, gas and water mains in said Street should be made by
<br />bringing and constructing them inside of the curb lines of said street, and I further r
<br />report that I have filed in your office s nec if icat ions showing the material to be used
<br />and the manner of laying all'such service pipes and making said connections.

<br />RESOLUTION FOR SERVICE
<br />CONNECTIONS WITH MAINS.` No. - 513.
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works on the 27th. day of February 1917 did adopt
<br />a resolution ordering and requiring the permanent impaovemant of Harrison -Avenue from
<br />Fuertz° inner Street to L-incoln Way West, by paving the roadway of the same, and
<br />QWHEREAS, the City Civil Engineer . has prepared and filed in the office of this
<br />Board a report showing the number and location of the service pipes, mains, conduits and
<br />laterals, and connections which are, or will be necessary to accommodate the abutting
<br />property owners thereof with gas, -water, sewer and other convenicnes and necessaries; and
<br />also said City Civil Engineer has prepared and filed in said office specifications showing
<br />the material to be used and the mnerr of laying said service pipes, mains, conduits, laterals
<br />and connectins from the mains to the points inside of the curb lines.

<br />THEREFORE, be •it resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana, that the report of the City Civil Eng iner is adopted, and said report and
<br />the spec if icat idns prepared and filed by hime are a p rt of this resolution as fully
<br />and effectually as if copied herein at dull length; and it is further ordered that all
<br />of such private connections with the sewer, gas and water mains be made in said street by
<br />b e ing ing them inside the curb lines thereof.
<br />And be it further resolved that notice by publication for two successive days
<br />in the South Bend Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation printed abd published in the
<br />City of South Bend, -Indiana, be given to the owners of the property abutting upon said
<br />street to be improved directing them to make such sewer and water connections on or before
<br />the 9th. day of May 1917, and that if said connections are not made on or b*$ore said t i ate
<br />and in accordance with the . spec if ieat ions and report on file in the office of the Board
<br />of Public Works bEen said Board will cause the same to be made and will assess the cost
<br />thereof against the property abutting upon said street, and shall do all other -things pertain
<br />ing thereto according to the prov is ions and requirements of Ordinance 1842 adopted by the
<br />Common Counxdl of the City of South Bend, on July 24th. 1916, and of all other
<br />ordinances and laws relating thereto.
<br />And, be it further resolved and ordered that after the 20 day period has elapsed
<br />for the making of said connections by the property owners, a notice .shall be published for tw
<br />creeks, once each week in the South Bend Tribune, a newspaper of general c irculat iron published
<br />In said City, requesting bids from contractors for the making of such connections as have
<br />not been made by the property owners, and such notice shall fix a day, not earlier than
<br />ten days after first of such publications, when bids shall be opened and a contract let for
<br />the doing of said work.
