The scope of work included: construction of streetscape <br />improvements along Colfax Avenue, from the east right of way of Main Street to the east right of <br />way of Michigan Street, and along Michigan Street, from Colfax Avenue to the south right of way <br />of LaSalle Avenue — including road milling and resurfacing, existing vault abandonment and <br />existing vault repairs, bituminous and concrete pavement, curb, sidewalk, ADA compliant curb <br />ramps, storm sewer improvements, common excavations, drive approaches, signing, lighting, <br />intersection signal equipment replacement, site lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and pavement <br />markings. During construction, unforeseen issues arose with concrete quantities provided by the <br />designer that caused an overrun of project budget. The Contractor, Walsh & Kelly, Inc., completed <br />all work on the project in accordance to the plans and specifications — but the quantities listed in <br />the bid tabulation were less than actual plan quantities required for the project. This overrun of <br />concrete quantities added $18,109.58.00 to the original project ($1,659,060.60). There was also <br />other project quantity overruns and underruns, which added $7,050.37. Total cost is now <br />$1,753,886.17. <br />Please call with your questions. <br />
