We have <br />more work to do on this front! <br />Exposure in trade magazines has grown substantially <br />over the past three years! From media values of <br />$575k in 2012, $615k in 2013 and an estimated $660k <br />in 2014. Wow! Thank you to our media partners, <br />Municipal Sewer & Water, Trenchless Technology <br />Magazine and Underground Construction Magazine. <br />ehabZone Committee <br />Guy Leslie, Chair Person <br />The RehabZone, an education zone at UCT, includes <br />a Sewer History Exhibit and other hands on displays <br />with expert volunteers to speak to attendees about <br />different technologies in a no -sales environment. This <br />year, we'd like to add more hands-on displays and we <br />also need those expert volunteers to help educate those <br />touring the zone. Please consider helping. <br />Also, we are currently collecting sponsorships to bring <br />things like the Sewer History to the exhibit as well <br />as to cover other expenses associated with the event. <br />Please donate! <br />Chap Lining Committee <br />Steve Hirtz on behalf of Dave Kozman, Chair Person <br />A new manual of practice (MOP) is under development <br />by an ASCE task group that addresses a new CIPP <br />design approach for gravity flow applications. A <br />second draft is being finalized, with a target publication <br />date of 2015. NASSCO is looking at developing a <br />CIPP design certification course that would reflect <br />the new ASCE MOP. NASSCO will be discussing <br />co -authorship of the MOP with ASCE. NASSCO is <br />performing due diligence on industry demand, pricing <br />structure and delivery of this course (classroom, online <br />or both). Once approved, it will take about 5-6 months <br />to roll out. <br />A Pipe Rehabilitation Standards Subcommittee has <br />been formed to define structural classifications for <br />pressure pipe lining technologies (Class I, II, III <br />and IV) in M28. The subcommittee had its first <br />meeting at ACE in Boston in June and another at <br />WEFTEC on 9/28/14. The committee has developed <br />initial framework for each classification for industry <br />feedback. Final recommendations will be published <br />through AW WA as a white paper. <br />Industry Relations Committee <br />Brandon Conley, Chair Person <br />This committee is currently helping to facilitate <br />NASSCO presentations at local conferences. If you <br />have a local conference that you participate in and <br />would like to speak about NASSCO, we can provide a <br />presentation to you. <br />We are also looking for more people to get involved in <br />the committee. If you are interested, please contact the <br />NASSCO office. <br />Pressure Pipe Committee <br />John Schroeder, Chair Person <br />The Pressure Pipe Committee's mission is to <br />develop reliable technical information, guidelines <br />and other references for capabilities, limitations and <br />costs of pressure pipe assessment and rehabilitation <br />technologies that will help owners and engineers with <br />the inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation of their <br />pressure pipelines. <br />(continued on page 10) <br />8 NASSCO TIMES' <br />
