41( <br /> YOUTH BASEBALL a" k <br /> SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION <br /> BILL NO. 18-72 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4668-18 <br /> A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE SOUTH BEND EASTSIDE YOUTH AND SOFTBALL <br /> TWELVE (12) YEAR OLDS FOR MAKING IT TO THE 2018 WORLD SERIES PLACING FOURTH <br /> (4TH) PLACE IN THE BABE RUTH WORLD SERIES. <br /> Whereas, the South Bend East Side 12U All Star Softball team's record the entire All-Star Season was <br /> sixteen(16)- four(4); and, <br /> Whereas,East Side dominated in state competition playing six (6) games and outscoring their <br /> opponents seventy-four(74)- one(1). East Side's lights-out pitching was led by Savannah Hamilton who <br /> pitched against twenty-four(24)batters throwing one-hundred two (102)pitches, seventy-five(75) of which <br /> were strikes. Other pitchers Kadence Brumitt, Jessica Cleveland, Taylor Kinkade and Allie Miltenberger <br /> combined to face forty-six (46) batters throwing a total of one-hundred fifty-two (152)pitches, eighty-two (82) <br /> of which were strikes; and, <br /> Whereas, East Side earned second (2°1)place in the Regional Tournament and was invited to play at the <br /> Babe Ruth World Series in Treasure Coast, Florida. To participate in the World Series, Eastside had twenty(20) <br /> days to raise funds to help cover travel expenses. With the help and support from their parents and sixteen(16) <br /> sponsorships from the South Bend community, the team was able to raise nearly$7,000.00; and, <br /> Whereas, East Side beat both the Regional Champion, Jeffersontown, and the 2017/2018 World Series <br /> Champion Patterson in the first (1St) two (2) games of the World Series tournament.
