N
.aancy Knapik
From: Daniels, Kathryn <KDaniels2@indot.IN.gov>
Sent: Monday, January 8, 2018 11:52 AM
To: Nancy Knapik
Subject: 2018 OJT Partnership Agreement Approval
Attachments: HRP 2018 OJT Partnership Agreement Approval..pdf
Importance: High
HRP Construction:
Please see the attached 2018 Cin-the-Job Training Program and Partnership Agreement approved foryour
company. Listed below are some resources which you may find helpful in -administering your compans OJT Program
this year.
1. Companies must utilize an apprenticeship program which has been approved. An approved program is one
that has been registered with the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) or approved by the appropriate Federal
Highway Administration (FHWA).
2. The point of contact for obtaining a registered program with the USDOL is John Delgado, USDOL
. Apprenticeship Training Representative, 317-226-7003.
3. Once a registered program or "Standards of Apprenticeship" is obtained from the USDOLit is the
responsibility of your company to administer the program accordingly.
1. The Journeyworkerto Apprentice (Trainee) Ratio is available in the Standards of Apprenficeship, see item I
above. Ratio example: If the ratio of journeyworkers to apprentices for an occupation classification is 4:1;
then, for every four (4) journeyworkers; on a given project, there can be one (1) apprentice working in that
same classification on that same project.
Recruiting Agencies:
1. An Indiana Recruiting Agency List is available as a reference on the
under the Contract Compliance Section. under On -the -Job Training. Your company can reference this list
when recruiting potential apprentices.
I look forward to working with you this year.
Katie Daniels
Contract Compliance Specialist& OJT Lead
Indiana Department of Transportation
100 N.
