Broden, Oliver Davis, Gavin Ferlic, Tim Scott Other Council Absent: None Others Present: Kareemah Fowler, Graham Sparks, Bob Palmer Presenters: Regina Williams-Preston Agenda: Update: Committee Logistics for the Remaining of 2018 and All of 2019 Committee Chair Regina Williams-Preston called to order the Community Relations Committee meeting at 4:53 p.m. She introduced members of the Committee and proceeded with the meeting. Update: Committee Logistics for the Remaining of 2018 and All of 2019 Committee Chair Williams-Preston stated, I've passed around just kind of a nice little outline (copies of which are available in the City Clerk's Office). I know we have just a few minutes and we have quite a number of people, I think, that are interested in speaking tonight. So I will read through that quickly and buck some highlights. Also I've passed out a little summary that I have put together for another event(copies of which are also available in the City Clerk's Office)but it gives a little more detail to some of the different initiatives we have been working on in regards to housing,reducing violence by building peace, education and litter. She continued, Today is just kind of an overview of the year with regards to the projects and accomplishments we've made. And then we will look forward towards next year and what kinds of things we will be looking at. First (1St), in terms of accomplishments in projects, housing, you know we've had the homeowners assistance. That has been a big issue with our community. In conjunction with Community Wellness Partners, we were able to do a community survey to get more information from residents. Also, in partnership with the City of South Bend Department of Community Investment, we were able to look at our Home Improvement Program and open that up to additional people revising the guidelines for eligibility which made it more available for folks. Secondly, something we are looking at is equity in policy.
