In regard to this, this company considers the abuse <br />of drugs or alcohol, on or off the job, to be unsafe and a counterproductive work <br />practice. With this in mind, Woodruff & Sons, Inc. has established the following <br />policy with regard to the use, possession, or sale of alcohol or illegal drugs at <br />work. This, in turn, keeps Woodruff & Sons, Inc. in compliance with the Federal <br />Government mandated Drug Free Workplace. <br />It is company policy that an employee found with the presence of alcohol or <br />illegal drugs in his/her system, in possession of, using, selling, trading, or <br />offering for sale, illegal drugs or alcohol during working hours, may be subject to <br />disciplinary action up to and including termination. (Company sponsored <br />activities, which may include the serving of alcoholic beverages, are not included <br />under this provision.) <br />Substance abuse includes possession, use, purchase or sale of drugs or alcohol <br />on company premises (including job sites) or in company vehicles. It also <br />includes reporting to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. <br />Drugs prescribed by the employee's physician may be taken during working <br />hours. The employee must notify the supervisor if the use of properly prescribed <br />medication will affect the employee's work performance. <br />Woodruff & Sons, Inca will maintain screening practices to identify employees who <br />use illegal drugs or abuse alcohol. It shall be a condition of continued <br />employment for all employees to submit to drug and/or alcohol screening. <br />Individuals who may be tested for substance abuse; <br />All new employees are subject to pre -employment drug screening. <br />❖ When there is reasonable suspicion to believe that an employee is using <br />illegal drugs or has used alcohol during working hours. <br />❖ When there is any mishap or accident involving an employee or caused by <br />an employee in which injury to persons or damage to property has <br />occurred. <br />❖ When there is an accident or mishap involving a company vehicle. <br />4. Upon return from extended absences. <br />Random Testing: Tests which are unannounced and in which every <br />employee has an equal chance of selection. <br />This policy is intended to be a helpful tool in working toward and maintaining a <br />drug and alcohol free workplace, and to comply with Indiana Code 4-13-18, <br />which in turn, will make a safer and more productive place to work. <br />This policy will be reviewed each year for any necessary changes or additions. <br />
