Listed below are some resources which you may find helpful in administering your company's OJT Program <br />this year. <br />Approved Apprenticeship Pro ram:. <br />I. Companies must utilize an apprenticeship program which has been approved. An approved program is one <br />that has been registered with the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) or approved by the appropriate Federal <br />Highway Administration (FHWA). <br />2. The point of contact for obtaining a registered program with the USDOL is John Delgado, USDOL <br />Apprenticeship Training Representative, 317-226-7003. <br />3. Once a registered program or "Standards of Apprenticeship" is obtained from the USDOL, it is the <br />responsibility of your company to administer the program accordingly. <br />Journe worker to A rentice Trainee Ratios: <br />1. The Journeyworker to Apprentice (Trainee) Ratio is available in the Standards of Apprenticeship, see item 1 <br />above. Ratio example: If the ratio of journeyworkers to apprentices for an occupation classification is 4:1; <br />then, for every four (4) journeyworkers on a given project, there can be one (1) apprentice working in that <br />same classification on that same project. <br />Recruiting Agencies: <br />1. An Indiana RecruitiDg A <br />yencyList is available as a reference on the Econorni <br />�c O ortun`rt Division website <br />under the Contract Compliance Section, under On -the -Job Training.
