INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM Department of Innovation & Technology City of South Bend 227 W Jefferson Blvd TO: Board of Public Works, Linda Martin CC: Dan O'Connor, Michael Schmidt, Clara McDaniels, Benjamin Dougherty, Sandi Kennedy FROM: Michael Sniadecki SUBJECT: Cisco Email Security -Enhanced Email Security DATE: 11/14/2018 Linda and Members of the Board We are submitting for review and approval of the 3-year Enterprise Agreement with Network Solutions, Inc for Cisco Email Security (CES). Although our Network Perimeter security is strong, COSB still need to continue to improve security/protection within the Endpoint (users) environment including within Office/Outlook 365 (emails). If COSB had any suspicious activities over the past few years, they came from Phishing emails attempts. Phishing, business email compromise, ransomware, and spam/malware attempts are growing and getting worst. Cisco Email Security (CES) will be our defense against phishing, business email compromise, ransomware & spam/malware and will enhance Office365/Outlook email security within COSB. The Office of Innovation and Technology team reviewed the quote and give favorable recommendation. Network Solutions does have the State QPA and will also assist in the implementation of this solution. Thank you. Michael Sniadecki
