All <br />references to years indicate a complete year of employment upon the employee's <br />anniversary date rather than fiscal years. <br />{€~ ~ Vacation time is not cumulative, and any days of vacation not actually used <br />during the calendar year in which they accrue shall be lost with no additional <br />compensation paid to employees not using those lost vacation days-, subject to the <br />City's Personnel Policies and Procedures which may allow use durine the first quarter <br />of the calendar year following the year in which the vacation days accrue. <br />{g) ~ This section shall not apply to sworn police officers and firefighters. <br />fie) The Mayor at his or her discretion may alter the vacation schedule for heads of <br />City Departments or for key employees having specialized expertise. <br />Section II. Anew Section 2-123.1 shall be added to Article 2, Chapter 8 of the South Bend <br />Municipal Code which shall read as follows: <br />Section 2-123.1 Discretionary Vehicle Allowance to City Department Head or Key <br />Emplo,~ee. <br />
