loud. Assistant City Attorney Ann -Carol Nash stated that Brothers is currently trying to <br />address the problem. Their restaurant license could be in jeopardy as well. The <br />problem mostly seems to be at the time of night when the bar is closing down and all <br />the patrons are leaving for the night. Sheriff Grzegorek stated that Brothers Bars are a <br />chain and most of them are located in stand alone buildings rather than in a complex. <br />SBPD Uniform Division Chief Walters stated that he was pleased with the relationship <br />and communication that has developed with the local universities. <br />Ann -Carol Nash praised Heidi Prescott's article about attracting young adults to the <br />City. <br />Gavin Ferlic would like more information from students as to what do they need to live, <br />work and play in the in the downtown area, and, what do we need to do to keep them <br />living in the area. Mike Carrington stated that they needed safety for one thing. Gavin <br />Ferlic and Tim Sexton would like to see a survey of students from 20 — 30 years old, <br />and find out what attracts them to stay. <br />Luella Webster thanked the South Bend Police Department for their good work at <br />Howard and St. Louis. There were kids trying to cross the street to the park and <br />vehicles were speeding and not yielding to them. She stated that 3 police officers were <br />assigned to that corner and 11 vehicles were given citations. <br />May 18th, 19th and 20th is the graduation weekend for Notre Dame and St. Mary's. <br />There will a lot of attendees for the graduation and within the city, as there is an <br />average of 8.5 tickets for each grad. <br />Tom Szekendi of ADT Security Systems introduced himself and stated that he would be <br />happy to help with the security of student residences. <br />The next meeting will be when the students return to school for the fall.
