m. After backfilling, the ground shall be graded with a .5' to 1' depression sloping towards <br />the middle of the site. The grading shall remove any ruts or holes caused by demolition <br />equipment or procedures on the site. <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2018, INDOT, Standard Specifications Section 202 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. All existing concrete sidewalks, drive approaches, curbing, and curb ramps in the public <br />ROW are to remain in place and be preserved in existing condition. If damaged during <br />demolition beyond a serviceable conditions, it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor <br />to repair the damaged item to its previous condition at the expense of the Contractor. <br />2. Use of adequate timber ramps and earth fill will be acceptable means of protecting these <br />facilities. Care shall be taken to avoid tracking dirt onto streets. Daily sweeping shall be <br />required at each access location. <br />3. There will be no direct payment for replacement of damaged concrete. This item will not <br />be measured directly, but shall be based on and incidental to the Lump Sum Unit Price <br />established in the Pay Items for Demolition. Demolition shall not be paid until this item is <br />100% completed. <br />XXVII. TOPSOIL AND MULCHED WHITE DUTCH SEEDING <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2018, INDOT Standard Specification Section 621 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The entire Project site shall receive four (4) inches of rich topsoil from an offsite source, <br />approved by the City prior to placement and be graded prior to the placement of seed. <br />2. A pH test shall be required from a third party testing agency and approved for each topsoil <br />source. <br />3. Topsoil shall contain no rocks or rubble over '/4" inch diameter, construction debris, or <br />organic waste (e.g. roots, branches, sticks, etc.). <br />4. The entire project limits shall be made smooth and uniform. The seed bed, if not loose, <br />shall be loosened to a minimum depth of three (3) inches. before seed is applied. <br />5. Each site is to receive White Dutch seeding. The seeding shall be applied in a mixture of <br />water and mulching material. <br />a. Application shall have a minimum of 95% coverage, with no bare areas greater than <br />eighteen (18) inches in dimension. <br />b. The Contractor is responsible for watering for thirty (30) calendar days after placement <br />of the seed per the schedule set forth in the Prevailing Specifications. <br />6. Payment for the Seeding and Topsoil shall be included in the Lump Sum Price for <br />Demolition for the properties as set forth in the proposal. <br />Version 8/16/2018 Special Provisions - 15 <br />
