DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA SPECIAL PROVISIONS 2018 Demolitions Project No. 118-307 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Project includes the demolition services associated with 23, More or Less, Vacant and Abandoned Homes within the City of South Bend. Work includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all equipment, material, and labor to complete the demolition as described in these Special Provisions. The Work to be performed shall be the demolition and removal of the complete structure including the basement, basement flooring, and other basement walls or stairways, and all other appurtenant work on the site as specified in these documents, removal and disposal of all demolition materials, remediation of asbestos containing materials as necessary, and final filling, grading and white dutch seeding of the site as described in these documents. Unit pricing for Asbestos Abatement is asked for each division in the event asbestos reports have not been completed due to unforeseen conditions. The homes are being demolished under an administrative action by the City's Department of Code Enforcement and as such, the City reserves the right to adjust the number of homes to be demolished by providing written notice to the Contractor. Accordingly, award of this Project is not a guarantee to the Bidder that all 23 homes will be included in the final listing of properties to be demolished under this contract. This is a divisible bid (Parts A-C) with each part being awarded in its entirety. II. PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS AND DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS The City of South Bend's PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS, most recent version, and DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS, most recent version, are to be used on this project. Each Bid provider is specifically instructed to become completely familiar with the most recent version of the PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS and the DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS prior to submitting a Bid. Wherever the PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS refer to "State Specifications," it shall mean the 2018 INDOT Standard Specifications for the letting effective after September 1, 2017. These SPECIAL PROVISIONS will list only "Additions" or "Deletions" to the PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS and are to be used only in conjunction with the PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS. In the event of conflict between the SPECIAL PROVISIONS and the PREVAILING SPECIFICATIONS, the SPECIAL PROVISIONS will govern. w A.
