Rice absent, <br />Mr. Shirk appeared before the Board and complained of the <br />size of sewer that was to be laid on Miami Strut between Fox Street and Ewing Avenuee <br />The Board informed Mr. Shirk that nothing could be done now as the contract had been <br />let for the said sewer. <br />Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 468. for pavement on <br />✓ Euclid. Avenue from La Porte Avenue to Walnut Street. In the City of -South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remon- <br />strance was filed. And the Board being; fully advised in the premises, decides that the <br />benefits to property, liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the esti-. <br />mated cost of the same, as re-orted by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final <br />action on said resolution. as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things <br />ratified, confirmed `and a^proved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 7th. day of <br />September 1916 and or the 14th day of Setember 1916 in a newspaper of general circulation <br />in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said <br />improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 26th. day of September 1916. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Tn the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore find that the roperty assessed in said <br />roll filed August 15th. 1916 is benefitted i^ the amount of assessments as shown on <br />said rolls, and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed August 15th, <br />1916 should be and the same is hereby in all things t atified, confirmed and approved. <br />Petition for a pipe sewer or. High Street from center of Bowman <br />Street to Fwing Avenue and or, Ewing Avenue from High Street to Miami Street and Miami <br />Street from Ewing Avenue south 1250 feet. The same was referred to the City Engineer <br />for investigtion. <br />Petition for a grade on Catalpo. Avenue from Indiana Avenue to <br />Calvert Street. Same reff�rred to the City Engi-neer for invesigation. <br />Petition received from property owners in the square bounded by <br />Main, Mayne, Lafayette and Division Streets petitioning for the installation of <br />an electric lamp of not less than 80 candle bower, at the junction of the alley which <br />runs north and south, and Place Court, which runs east and west through the above <br />described square. The same read and placed on file. <br />
