Board met'in regular session at 10:00 A M. All members present. <br />Bids we_r,.e received opened and read on the following improvements. <br />Pipe sewer on Donald Street, Pipe sewer on Marine Street, Pipe sewer <br />--on Orchard Street and Kendall. Avenue, also pavement on alley west of Lafayette <br />Street between Marion St. and Navarre St. Same referred to the City Engineer <br />f or tabulation. <br />This being the date set. for tb.� deferred hearing on Resolution for <br />Track Sepdration No. 1 for the elevation of: -,track;; of tide New York Central Ry. Compay <br />between Chapin Street and Michigan Street this City. In the above matter Attorneys <br />Van Fleet and Hubbell and Engineer R..C. Reinsagen appeared representing the <br />New York Central Ry. Company. The Board after cue consideration decided to rescind <br />this resolution and the City Attorney and City Engineer were requested to prepare <br />a new resolution making all effected parties and all Ether Railroad Companies <br />affected parties of -the new resolution. The Board ordered that the same be <br />prepared immediately and served and the hearing set for Tuesday August 15.th.,1916. <br />at 10:00 A.M. <br />Mr. E. T. Bonds, Mgr. of the Central Union Telehone Company appeared <br />before the Board and complained of the SuAh. Bend Home Telephone Company using <br />cable in the ground without the necessary conduit. The Board took the above <br />matter under advisement. <br />Mr. Thomas H. Beaning, Pole and Wire Inspector was ordered by the Board <br />to investigate the South Bend Home Telephone underground work, and if they were <br />✓ laying cable without conduit, they shoula be notified co stop work until further <br />orders from the Board. <br />Clerk instructed to write to.E. W. Lindsey, Foreman of undergroundwork <br />for the.Central Union Telephone Company and request that they take care of the <br />underground work in the underground district first as this will enable the City <br />to take.care of its work along with their work. <br />Partial estimate allowed H. L. Davis on Morris Street, grade, curb, walk <br />and gravel pavement 8nr the amount of................................. .$420.42 <br />Petition for pipe sewer received on Foster Street from Howard Street to <br />St. Vincent Street. The same was referred to the City Engineer. <br />Petition received for the opening of Pokagon Street across the right <br />of way of the Michigan Central Ry. Company and the Southern Michigan Ry. C•ompany. <br />�— The same referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />The City Engineer filed the estimated cost of cement sidewalk <br />1/ improvement on the west side of Kemble Avenue from Oliver Street to Ewing Avenue <br />at .00000$900.00 <br />The City`Engineer filed the estimated cost of the Ninth Street <br />cement sidewalk.and cement curb improvement from Pleasant Street to St. Joseph <br />River at..................$700«00- <br />Cemetery Sexton filed financial report for the month of July 1916. <br />President. <br />
