All members present. <br />The Board had up for discussion the sever water and gas. connections on <br />Eddy Street and Mishawka Avenue° and the following report was adopted and referred to the <br />Common Council for rati°fivation. <br />REPORT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />Of The eity of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Sewer, Water and Gas connections on Eddy Street and Mishawaka Avenue Eddy Street from <br />Jefferson Blvd. to Mis :kawka dAve nze and Mishawaka Avenue from Eddy Street to center of <br />Nineteenth Street. <br />To the Honorable Council : <br />Gentlemen:- The. Board of Public Works herewith presents its report for the <br />following Sewer, Gas and water connections. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />E. ill. MORRIS <br />President. <br />RESOLUT ION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC STORKS # .442 <br />On motion duly made and seconded, the foll.owi-ig preamble and resolutions <br />,--'were unanimously adopted: <br />WHEREAS, This Board did on the lst. day of February 1916 deem it expedient <br />and of public' utility to permanently improve Eddy Street from Jefferson Blvd. to Mishawaka <br />Avenge and Mishawaka Avenue from Eddy Street to center of Ninetee =th Street by paving, <br />the roadway of the same, and did on said date pass and adopt a resolution authorizing said <br />permanent improvement, and <br />WHEREAS, The City Engineer has prepared and filed with this Board a report <br />showing the number and location, as well as the material to be used and the manner of laying <br />the same, of the service pipes, mains, conduits, laterals and connections which are, or <br />will be necessary to accommodate the abutting property owners with gas, water, heat, steam <br />or any other product for which any person, firm or corporation has been granted a franchise <br />for supplying the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana which report to on file <br />in the 0 ffice of the Board. <br />BE IT RESOLVED, That said report of said City Enpia e r be and is hereby <br />adopted. And be it further Res ,lved, That it is cdntemplated by this Board to improve <br />Eddy Street from Jefferson Blvd. to Mishawaka Avenue and Mishawaka Avenue from Eddy Street <br />to the centerof Nineteenth Street, all in said City of South Bend, by construction of pave- <br />ment, and that it is, and is hereby so declared, necessary for the Northern Indiana Gas and <br />Electric Company, which has, and operates under, a franchise from said City to supply gas <br />to the citizens of said City, to provide And install me ins, laterals, service pipes and <br />connections for gas in said part of sid street, of the description, :Location and number <br />set forth in said report of said City Engineer, which marls, service pipes and connections <br />are hereby declared necessary for tht immediate use of said Company in supplying gas to the <br />owners of property abutting upon said part of said street. <br />E.
