Tuesday April 18th. ,1916. <br />Board met in regular session at 7,145 P.M. Mr. E. M. Morris absent, Mr. <br />A. H. Rice acting president. <br />Hearing had om improvement Resolution Nol 423 for the Graveling, <br />grading and curb and sidewalk on Elmer Street from Mayr°s Michigan Avenue Add. to ]Keller <br />Street, In. the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was <br />filed. The Board after due conideration decided to defer all action on said resolution <br />until Tuesday May 2nd. 1916 at 7:45 P.M. The Board to make a trip over said street to <br />investigate ss.i d gre.de. <br />Hearing h.- d on Imp movement Resolution No. 420 for pipe sewer on Indiana <br />Avenue from Kemble Avenue to Prairie Avenue, In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing a remonstrator appeared but no written remonstrance was <br />filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to <br />property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost <br />of the sa e , as reported by the City Civil Engineer, t.^d thereupon takes final action on said <br />resolution as orginally adopted and ,tip ,same is hereby in all things ratified , confir. ed <br />and app roved. <br />Res olve.d further, that notices be published on the 2ftkd day of April 1916 <br />and on the 29th. day ofApril 1916 in anewspape r of general circulation in said City, stat- <br />ing that this City will ;receive bids for the eonstrction of said improvements up to 10:00 <br />A.M. on the 9th. day of May 1916. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 421 for the pavement on <br />Indiana Avenue from Kemble Avenue to Prairie Avenue, In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were <br />filed. And the Board being fully a dvised in the preises, decides that the benefits to <br />property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated ost of the <br />same, c s reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said <br />resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things ratified, con- <br />firmed and app roved. <br />Resolved further,, that notices be publi = bed on the 22nd. day of April <br />1916 and on the 29th. day of April 1916 in a' newsp:eper of general circulation in said City <br />stating that this Board will receive bids for the contruction of said improvements up to <br />10:00 A.M. on the 9tho day of May 1916. The Board reserves th ^ ri&- t to re Je ct any and all <br />bids. <br />Petition for sewer on Colfax Avenue from Walnut Street to Studebaker <br />v Street, received and read and referred tonthe City Engineer for investigation. <br />Petition received and read for pavenenton alley north of La Salle <br />Avenue from Michigan St. to Main St. Referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />Petition for pavement on alley west of Michigan Street from La Salle <br />Avenue to Madison Street, read and referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />Conmuni cat ion received from Woman ' s Civic League. Same read and <br />placed on file. <br />Acting President. <br />
