Tuesday March 29th.,1916. <br />Board met in regular session at 10 ;00 A.M. All members present. <br />Bids were received, opened and read for pavement on Keasey Street from <br />Michigan Street to Carroll Street. The same were referred to the City Engineer for <br />tabulation to be reported on at 7:45 P.M. this 29the day of Larch 1916. <br />Bids were receivedv opened and read for curb and walk on various Street sin <br />the City. The same were referred to the City Engineerfor tabulation to be reported <br />on at 7:45 P.M. this 29th. day of March 1916. <br />Mayor Keller and Tyr. U. G. Marming, CiJry Controller appeared before the <br />J Board and discussed the cost of the intersections on the streets to be improved. <br />The Clerk of the Board w<: s instructed to bvdee' 100-40 Watt Electric bulbs <br />-for the City Hall. <br />Petition for grade, curb and v,lk on Logan Street from Scott Street to <br />Leland Avenue and three inches of gravel pavement W s presented to the Board, u, nd the <br />d same was referred to the City Engineer for a resolution. <br />Petition for the establishing of a grade in alley north of Madison Street <br />✓ from Main Street to Lafayette Blvd. was ordered. <br />Communication received, read = nd placed on file from A. B. Thielens in <br />regard to a, Street flusher and the present condition of. various streets. The same <br />was read and placed on file. <br />Bond signed bynLoren H. Vander Kerr and signed by Guy Staples and Walter <br />Hildebrand as surelies was approved by the Boards, and the following contract was <br />approved. <br />CONTRACT. <br />THIS AGREEMENT, Made and entered Into t'U s ;rth- da.y oA 14arch 1916 by an d <br />f between Laren r. °r"icdcr Karr party of tie first p&ff 31,�? 11'.,r i) <br />Indiana, by its Board. of Publ._.0 Wi orl' , �,art:�os. .' ....- _.t <br />That for ghd Iii d f t do o tie pes here na - er stated; te aid <br />to the party of the first party by the party of the second part, the said party of the <br />first part hereby agrees to repair all asphalt pavements in the Streets of said City, <br />and to furnish all materials and labor required in doing said work until -April 1st. <br />1917, All of said repairing is to be done at places as directed by the Street Com— <br />missioner of said City. or by his deputy. Ss.id party of the first part agrees- to <br />use first class material in doing said work , and he further agrees to place barri— <br />cades add red lights at the places where said repair work is being done by Itim, in such <br />manner as to protect all persons, in using said street, from injury. <br />In consideration of the performance of said work by the party of the first <br />part, the said party of the second part agrees to pay him therefor the sum of Two <br />($2.00)Dollars per square yard for all —re —surfacing and repair work, except where the <br />grouting or foundation concrete is broken through or is in such condition that it <br />cannot be used, in which instance the party of the first part shall receive two and <br />35-100 (2.35) Dollars per square yard . S id sums are to be paid after said mrk has <br />been inspected and approved by the Street Commissioner of said City, or by the City <br />Civil Engineer. <br />The party of the first part further agrees that he will do all s---id work <br />in a good workmanlike manner, find that he hereby guarantees all of said repair work tob <br />be and remain in good condition for a period of one year from the time such repair wok <br />work is dne; and if during said year said repair work is done should become de— <br />fective, the party of the first part agrees to replace the same with good material, or <br />upon failure to do so, to refund to said City the amount received by him for such <br />repairing. <br />
